The Table Kevin Fehling

In his set menu (dubbed "Das Tor zur Welt" – "Gateway to the World"), Kevin Fehling draws on a wide range of influences, be they Asian, Middle Eastern or South American, and is also fond of combining them in a fusion with classically French-based cuisine. The dishes are characterised by a wealth of beautifully complementary flavours, as well as deftly integrated contrasts and impressive technical precision, not to mention top-notch ingredients. These qualities are exemplified in the outstanding, firm-fleshed scallop carpaccio served at a pleasant room temperature with delicate pieces of celery and subtly tart, fruity apple, accompanied by a buttermilk broth with a hint of yuzu and herb oil. In the stylish, relaxed atmosphere around the long and winding table after which the restaurant is named, you can see the action unfold in the open kitchen – everything runs like a well-oiled machine! Restaurant manager David Eitel, part of the charming and ever-on-hand front-of-house team, deserves a special mention for his effortlessly attentive way of engaging with diners.
