Dish names are written in two kanji characters, inviting guests to imagine their flavours. ‘Furong’ takes its cue from the hibiscus, the official flower of Chengdu, while ‘Guifei’ incorporates the wine favoured by the famed Tang-era beauty Yang Guifei.
