The building used to be a merchant house and now sports a Showa-era vibe. Side dishes such as tofu preserved in miso, buckwheat dumplings and bowls of duck meat fill the menu to accompany drinks. Not a few guests can be seen tipping a cup or two from noon onwards in the retro atmosphere. The soba noodles are generously piled high like a mountain on a wicker draining basket, dazzling the eyes, and each noodle, with its sharp, angular shape, offers a firm yet smooth texture.
